Hello LPSC!
One of our Club’s premier events, the annual Around the Island Race, will be taking place this Saturday, Sept 13th. Since this is a fairly long race, I would like to start the fleet at 1PM. Let’s all try to be at the start/finish line one half hour before the start. The course is simple but race strategy is anything but that! We cross the start line going east to west, sail the 4 miles to Middle Island, round it keeping it to starboard, then sail back and cross the finish line going west to east. Middle Island is fickle and will be submerged this year. However its location marked by 2 buoys. Pass west of both buoys but be careful and don’t cut it too close.
